The Formative Years

Take a look at the formation, inaugural and other minutes during the early years of the Tumby Bay & District Lions club. Click anywhere in the box below..

There are just so many stories of the early formative years of the Tumby Bay and District's Lions club formation.

This is the first web page for the Tumby Lions club and there are just so many interesting things to record that the list seems to be never ending, but we will get there with a bit of dedication and some late lights.

The original minutes published on this web site capture some of the history of the club but like most minutes they lack the colour and true meaning of the event. [See the link on the left].

And there is just so much more. The stories of the fun of progressive dinner meetings, working on projects like the Tumby Pontoon and the sheep poo collection and the serious stuff like the cancer screening unit and support to the Tumby Hospital and the Royal Flying Doctor.

Many of the original members of the Tumby Club are still members today and have a wealth of funny and some serious stories to tell. As we develop this web site we will try to capture those stories for the benefit of history.

Additionally we will also bring you individual members reminiscences of those exciting years in our regular feature 'Members Spotlight". Some of these memories are captured in our Photo Gallery and that will grow as we add more photos and other information.

If you have a story that is of interest to other members and the community, we would love to hear it. Just give me a call on M: 0419814042 or send an email to our contact. Click Here.
