ABOUT US

Tumby Bay Lions Club

The Tumby Bay and District Lions club was chartered on the 28 November 1979. There were 33 charter members who signed the original charter. Some of those original members are still active in the club today.

The history of the Tumby Bay and District Lions shows the many community projects that have supported the town and the community.

The club continues as an active part of the community and is boastful of the fact that the membership of the club is one of the largest in the Lions district.

Lions International

Lions International is the largest service club organisation in the world. More than 1.4 million members in over 48,000 clubs are serving in 200 countries and geographic areas around the globe.

Since 1917, Lions have strengthened local communities through hands-on service and humanitarian projects, and they extend those service impacts through the generous support of local Lions Clubs as part of the Lions International Foundation.

Lions International is focused on supporting vision, the environment, childhood cancer, hunger, diabetes and other pressing humanitarian needs to help address some of the biggest challenges facing humanity. Tumby Bay & District Lions is proud to be part of this world wide organisation.

Our Community

Tumby Bay and District has changed over the many years since the early development of Eyre Peninsular with an increase in population, consolidation of small farms into large enterprises with multi faceted crops and pastoral activities.

While the face of the community may have taken on a new and more modern look the ideals of the Tumby Lions still remain the same with a strong epmphasis on supporting the community; with members always ready to roll up their sleeves to help individuals, families and the community as a whole.
