The first Photograph Album began in 1980 when Tumby Bay Lion's Club Chartered in the Tumby Bay Hall on 23 rd February 1980. A newspaper article was in the Port Lincoln Times.

Rod Brooks was the charter President, Dean Smith Charter Chairman.

Lions Deane Liddicoat, Wilbur Williams, Richard Curtis, Geoff Giles, Trevor Squires, Toby Franks, Alan McNamara, Sam Campbell were all mentioned and photographed in the first book which has entries up to the end of 1989.

The first project mentioned was when the Tumby Bay Lions painted the National Trust Museum. The present Lion's Park was known as the Power Boat Enclosure.

In 1983 the fencing was upgraded. Lions Wilbur Williams, Dean Smith Curly Poole, Trevor Squires and Geoff Giles were some who were involved

The Lion's Fishing Competitions were managed from there. It looks to have begun in January 1982. In 1983, no prizes for guessing who won the biggest Fish! He is still reeling in big fish.

The competition was still going in 1989. Proceeds from an early event were donated to a Lion's Miss Personality entrant.

In 1981-82 the Lion's welcome signs were erected at the town entrances, and the Ungarra Playground was supported. Donut cooking has become a core fund raiser, since the 1982 Yallunda Flat show 28 years ago. The same year a combined Club picnic with Cummins was also held at the Yallunda Flat Show Grounds, and the winning ladies team bike race was won by Sally Curtis, Lyn Brooks, Lorraine Liddicoat and Wendy Williams.

An important civic duty was performed by Deane Liddicoat the same year, at a Lion's Cabaret when he cut the ribbon at the entrance of the new Hall toilets, ably assisted by Kay Lodge and Lyn Brooks. Tumby Bay Lion's Club donated funds for the Hospital to purchase a device called a Slit Lamp.

It was presented to Dr. David Wibberly by John Lockyer and Deane Liddicoat.

Lion's Geoff Giles and Sam Campbell were handy with a paint brush during a Jetty painting project.

In 1983 renovating a catering caravan was a major project.

Mention was made of a Walkathon, plus a Mozzie Drive, but no details. Lion Geoff Giles year as President in 1986 included a Club fun fancy dress night, picnics, and hosting a Senior Citizens day at Yallunda Flat Hall, which included Music and dancing.

In 1987 the Lion's undertook responsibility to place and secure the town swimming pontoon. ' Photos show Lion Neil Kopman helping  No mention was made as to who made the pontoon.

A busy bee at the town cemetery was well attended. Some of the workers were Dean Eagle, Dean Lodge, Neil Kopman, Toby and Neil Franks, Sam Campbell and John Lockyer.

There was a country and Western night during the year with everyone looking appropriately dressed in Stetsons. Akubras, check shirts and Jeans.

A combined Port Lincoln and Tumby Bay Lion's Picnic was held on Boston Island in 1988. There were no other photos from that year.

There were quite a few photos of big tree planting project but no date..maybe 1989.

Lion's Toby Franks, Deane Liddicoat, Sam Campbell and Allan McNamara who were present may be able to confirm the date. These details are in the first photo book of the Tumby Bay Lion's Club, which now resides in the Tumby Bay National trust Museum.
